"Excellent spot. Charming site, with neat "forest floor" pitches equipped with a small bench and a fire pit, and adjacent parking.
The pitches are screened from one another so despite being close they still feel reasonably private. A good size, although not sure how much room there would be around some of the biggest tents.
Dedicated campervan pitches too. Didn't look at the bell tents.
Facilities were clean and functional, including a well received kettle, microwave and toaster. Hot shower! Pizzas on Friday night, but sadly we missed these.
Nearby walk to a waterfall which is pleasant, and can be extended (up to a mile) to a decent nearby pub. Didn't have time to explore anything further

We didn’t camp this time, but we stopped by Derned Woods for a bit of fresh air and to try their pizza — and we’re so glad we did!
The place has a really relaxed, natural vibe that’s perfect for getting away from the noise. The pizza oven is a brilliant touch — proper wood-fired flavour, and the kids absolutely loved watching it being made. It’s rare to find somewhere local that feels this welcoming, especially with little ones in tow.
We spent a couple of hours just enjoying the peace, letting the kids run around, and tucking into some of the best pizza we’ve had in ages. The staff were friendly, and the whole atmosphere was laid-back and family-friendly.
We’ll definitely be back — and next time, we might even bring the tent! Highly recommend if you’re after great food and a proper bit of outdoor time with the family"

"I stayed at Dearden Wood Campsite for a night with my grandson and his step dad. We were lucky as it was Friday night pizza night which were delicious.
The site is really well run and Jessy and Ryan make everyone feel at home. We had a tent pitch which was ample for our 5 man tent which had a bark covering which made it easy to put up a tent and not muddy. The standing for cars was gravel again a nice touch.
Amenities were really clean and having an area to boil a kettle, microwave and wash up very welcome on a wet day. There were plenty of fire pits for everyone and the facility to have a fire pit in a large covered area again was welcome on a wet night.
The site is in a really good position to explore the countryside with lovely walk ( I will be back to try these out in better weather!) thanks Ryan and Jessy for making my grandsons introduction to camping such fun."
