Dovedale - Peak District 🏞️ This route is an absolute favourite of mine, the video is just a rough guide, always take a map or way of navigation especially along the higher section… If you want a shorter version you can still experience all caves and bridges by just walking along the valley bottom all th way to milldale and back! But if you’ve got the energy the full route is a beauty! I’ve li...

Reviews Summary

Dovedale is a stunning natural beauty spot offering rewarding walks and iconic scenery, particularly the stepping stones. While parking can be challenging and the popular areas crowded, the varied terrain and beautiful landscapes make it a worthwhile visit. Be prepared for potential wet feet and changeable conditions. Reddit

"Such an amazing natural spot to visit with friends and family that offers a great walk by the river and you can also try to climb the small hill next to the stepping stone. It'll be challenging but definitely worth it when you get to the top.

It has a huge parking space. And other amenities such as food, restrooms, tables (for dining).

Overall, it's a great place in peak district."

"Dovedale offers a rewarding walking experience, despite some minor logistical challenges. While parking can be a bit of an issue, requiring some patience or an early arrival, the walk itself is thoroughly enjoyable. The constant changes in terrain and altitude provide a slightly strenuous but ultimately invigorating hike.

The varied landscape keeps the walk interesting, though it does require a reasonable level of fitness. The beautiful sights along the trail make the effort worthwhile, and reaching the end provides a real sense of accomplishment, with stunning views to reward your efforts.

During our visit, the stepping stones were closed for repairs. While this might be a disappointment for some, it didn't detract from our experience. We, along with other walkers, simply opted to wade through the water. This added a touch of adventure, although we did witness a couple of unfortunate slips on the stones, highlighting the potential hazards even when they are accessible.

Overall, Dovedale is a fantastic destination for a walk. While parking and the changeable terrain present minor challenges, the beautiful scenery and enjoyable hike make it a worthwhile trip. Just be prepared for potential wet feet if the stepping stones are closed!"

"I will give this place a 5 star review based on beauty but this is with a huge caveat, sadly social media stokes again with these places as it now gets beyond busy. If your planning on going I would avoid weekends and the holidays like the plague"
