"Dolbadarn Castle is a fantastic little stop, and best of all , it’s free! The walk up from the car park is short but quite steep, so be prepared for a bit of a climb. Once at the top, you’re rewarded with stunning views of the surrounding Snowdonia mountains and lakes. There’s a helpful information board that explains the history, and you can even climb up the spiral staircase inside the tower. The top viewing area is caged for safety but still offers great views. We visited here as part of our day out riding the steam and diesel trains in Snowdonia, and it was definitely worth adding to the trip."
