"The ticket office is open Monday to Friday 0645h to around 1315. The guy said he leaves at 1330 so he needs to close a bit earlier to get ready to go then.
Otherwise there is a ticket machine on the southbound platform, which is the opposite side to the office."

There are plenty of nice cafes and a few reasonably priced restaurants of various types. Also several nice pubs.
