🌿 Palacerigg Country Park. This huge playpark in the woods is abit like a Go-Ape or a huge soft play. Great for kids who love to climb and they now also have a new section in the same forest for wee kids. 🚗 20 minute drive from Glasgow, Motherwell or Stirling. We also did the Badger Trail 🦡 here which will share a video on. 🌿🦡🐾 #palaceriggcountrypark #scottishmums #glasgow #stirling #motherwel...

Reviews Summary

Visitors praise Palacerigg Country Park for its beautiful woodland trails, adventure play areas, and dog-friendly atmosphere, making it a great escape into nature. However, some find the lack of bins in play areas inconvenient and note the absence of the former petting zoo. Parking can also be a challenge during peak times.

"Palacerigg Country Park is an absolute lovely for anyone who loves the outdoors and a touch of adventure.

From the moment you step onto its woodland trails, you’re surrounded by the peaceful sounds of nature — birdsong, rustling leaves, and the occasional sighting of a roe deer darting through the trees. The park’s nature trails are well maintained and perfect for long walks or gentle hikes, winding through stunning woodlands and the impressive Glencryan Gorge. One of the highlights is definitely the treetop walkway, offering a fresh perspective of the park from above and a great spot for birdwatching. The area is teeming with local wildlife — bats, dragonflies, owls, and more — making it a paradise for nature enthusiasts and photographers alike.

What I love most about Palacerigg is its variety — it’s the kind of place that caters to everyone. If you’re after something active, there are great routes for mountain biking and longer hiking circuits that test your stamina while rewarding you with breathtaking views. Families can enjoy the open spaces for picnics or BBQs, while the visitor centre provides a fascinating look into the park’s wildlife and history. Whether you’re out for a relaxing stroll, a scenic bike ride, or simply to reconnect with nature, Palacerigg Country Park delivers a perfect balance of adventure and tranquility. It’s a place that truly makes you appreciate the beauty of Scotland’s great outdoors."

"Visiting as a couple, for a dog walk, we found this country park to be a little disappointing. No way to walk around the lovely loch. Much of the grounds we explored is a golf course so you must be vigilant of flying golf balls. The petting zoo is long gone and it's abandoned remains are quite sad looking. I can see more attraction for those with kids at the playground or those into golf. Maybe we need to explore more to get the best of it but we aren't drawn to rush back. The parking on the day we went was an absolute disaster but overall for us it was a nice afternoon out."
