What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Crème is a popular London bakery known for its hefty, gooey cookies that often live up to the social media hype, though some find them a bit too sweet or pricey. The lovely decor adds to the experience, but the malt-flavored soft-serve receives mixed reviews.
"I finally decided to give Crème a go after seeing it pop up on my feed countless times, just to see if it really lived up to the hype. To be fair, £5 is a bit steep and I went for the double chocolate vegan cookie. It was nicely gooey, but I’ve definitely had better - nothing particularly groundbreaking. The decor inside is lovely, though and I also tried the hot chocolate with marshmallows (forgot to snap a picture) but that too didn’t quite live up to expectations.
If you’ve got a serious sweet tooth and don’t mind spending a little extra, it’s worth a try! otherwise, you’re not missing too much"

"First time trying Crème and honestly I get the hype. Entering the store, I was graciously greeted by every single employee there. I told them I was interested in trying a cookie, and they went through every cookie on display. The dark triple chocolate & seasalt is the one I purchased and there were no regrets. Crispy edges, gooey center — basically everything my therapist told me not to fall for. £5 for a cookie is exorbitant, but it is a hefty cookie with a lot of ingredients that should only be purchased for a treat occasionally, in my opinion.
A few tips- try going closer to opening hours. I went on a Saturday around 10am and the store was empty. Going during busier times, I don't think the experience would be as appreciable. Also, I highly recommend walking a few minutes to Soho Square Garden to enjoy your dessert."

"I popped in to check out Crème for my blog. It was okay. Cookies overly sweet. Soft serve is malt flavour which isn’t that nice. They only top the soft serve with one of the cookies. I wouldn’t go back."

Many visitors are drawn to Crème by its social media presence, eager to see if the reality matches the online hype. The quality of ingredients and the baking process are key to their appeal. For the optimal experience, many recommend visiting when the cookies are freshly baked and still warm, which enhances their gooey texture. This often means aiming for earlier in the day or during less busy periods.
While the cookies are the main draw, Crème also offers soft-serve ice cream and hot chocolate. Navigating the Crème Visit
To avoid disappointment and long queues, visiting during off-peak hours is a common tip. Weekday mornings or early weekend mornings, like around 10 AM on a Saturday, are often cited as ideal times to snag freshly baked cookies without the crowds. This also increases the likelihood of experiencing the cookies at their best – warm and gooey.
Once you have your cookie, a popular suggestion is to take it to Soho Square Garden, a nearby green space, to enjoy your treat in a more relaxed setting. This allows you to savor the cookie without the hustle and bustle of the bakery itself.
