Reviews Summary

Kings Wood Corby is cherished as a peaceful, well-maintained nature reserve offering a wild and unmanaged woodland experience. Visitors love its suitability for dog walks and the calm atmosphere, though some note the lack of formal facilities. It's a local gem appreciated for its natural beauty and community care.

"King’s Wood Local Nature Reserve is a lovely little spot, especially when the weather is dry. It’s perfect for a peaceful dog walk and always feels very calm and pleasant. The area is well looked after with no litter, and it’s a really nice green space to have close by. A hidden gem for a bit of fresh air and nature."

Alex Walker

"I love waking my dog here and seeing all the animals."

Tracey Ford

"This is my favourite of all of Corbys urban woodlands. There's something interesting around every corner; hidden ponds, spring flowers, felled trees to climb on, mighty oaks to sit under and read. As the name suggests, this is more of a nature reserve than a public park and it has a wonderful unmanaged, left to grow wild, feel. There are a handful of cleared, gravel pathways that dissect the reserve in a H shape, so there's no obvious circular route unless you're willing to explore the many foot-worn trails wriggling off under the canopy, but the wood does open out to a field and a play park at it's north-eastern corner if you need somewhere to direct your walk towards. Throughout the day, the main paths in the wood are popular with dog walkers and keep-fitters who'll often stop for chat on their way through. Teenagers sometimes use the logs and clearings found off the trails as a social space too, keeping themselves to themselves as teenagers often do. Expect dappled morning and evening sun, quiet nature sounds, lush green summer canopies, crisp winter silhouettes, and of course puddles and squidgy mud in the wetter weeks."
