What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Visitors consistently praise the Cooper Gallery for its free admission, friendly staff, and delightful cafe with delicious homemade cakes. The rotating exhibitions are engaging, and the charming patio garden offers a peaceful escape. While small, it's considered a valuable cultural spot.
"Free to visit but accepts donations. Lovely little gallery in Barnsley. Has shop, café, attractive patio garden and additional upstairs gallery. Friendly staff. When I visited they had an exhibition upstairs by blacksmith, Sam Sherborne, very skilled and humorous pieces. I can highly recommend the café, with its homemade creations, the cakes are totally delicious. There is a seated patio area with an extended garden with a few more exterior sculptures, bird feeding stations and a living wall of plants. Worth a visit."

The members of staff are really friendly and came out of their way to come say hello and make us feel welcome. Will definitely be recommending and coming back."
