Reviews Summary

Visitors consistently praise the Collegiate Church of St. Mary for its stunning architecture, rich history, and free admission. The Norman crypt and the option to climb the tower for panoramic views are frequently highlighted as memorable experiences. While generally well-maintained, some note the narrowness of the tower steps.

"St Mary's Church, Warwick re-opened, or rather the tower did in 2024 after a restoration. Before paying £5 to go up the tower climb to the roof with views, I had a look around, including the crypt, and the various tombs, some of famous Tudor era Earls like Robert Dudley, Earl of Leicester. 160 steps to the top of the tower. Amazing views including views to Warwick Castle and the racecourse."

"A truly beautiful and historic place — absolutely worth a visit while in Warwick! Entrance is free, and the church offers a peaceful atmosphere filled with centuries of history. Inside, you’ll find the magnificent Beauchamp Chapel, often described as one of the finest medieval chapels in Europe, with incredible tombs and detailed stonework. The Norman crypt is one of the oldest parts of the building and gives a real sense of the church’s long past.

The interior is stunning, with high vaulted ceilings, stained glass windows, and impressive monuments dedicated to the Earls of Warwick.

Located right in the heart of Warwick, St Mary’s is easy to find and surrounded by charming streets and cafés. Highly recommended for anyone visiting Warwick!"

"The 88's (bingo reference) at the door told me that I couldn't take videos. Strange, I thought, I've taken hundreds before without any trouble. Then it dawned on me. Perhaps this is the time, if I take a video, that the great smiting will occur. I swallowed hard, a bead of sweat 😓 ran down from my brow. I pointed my camera and hit the video 📹 button........... nothing happened, apart from what you see below. I'm getting a bit bored with it all now. In future I'm gonna be picky about visiting god's gaffs. Enjoy. Amen."
