Reviews Summary
Cliff Park is appreciated for its wide-open spaces and beautiful sea views, making it a pleasant spot for dog walking and family outings with its dedicated play area. While some amenities show wear, the free parking and nearby cafe add to its convenience. Visitors should be aware of its exposed location, which can be uncomfortable in strong winds.

"Cliff Park is to be found at the end of Marine Parade atop the transitional area between upper Dovercourt & Harwich Town. It's a sloping area of grass & formal flowerbeds with some unique quaint features, such as the beacon beside Beacon Hill Fort, octagonal bandstand & a thatched hut, reminiscent of a toadstool. Due to its location, Cliff Park is better avoided during gale force winds as it's a very exposed site & provides no shelter whatsoever & can become dangerous when heavy things are blowing around. Cliff Park lacks any water feature since the closure of Dovercourt Spa during WWI, but Cox's Pond is only a short walk away. The octagonal Public Toilet block is a good design, but needs to be used with care. Although providing the privacy of individual cubicles, the builder fitted cheap inadequate locks which totally fail to secure the doors properly. From the inside it appears that you're shut in, but in actual fact it's still possible for someone else to open the door!"

"Lovely, open area with all the amenities you would need for a visit. There is a cafe serving hold and cold food & drinks, toilets, plenty of seating and a play area for children. Beach is 100 metres away with a shallow sea. Plenty of free parking close by too.
Oh, and there’s a genuine Banksy close by too!"
