"Claypots Castle is a beautiful stone building that dates back to the 16th century. It is maintained inside and outside perfectly. Access is free on certain dates of the year and would recommend visiting. The staff are very helpful and friendly, and it is very easy to get to. This building is a credit to the city."

"A beautiful architectural emblem from the 16th century. Unfortunately, visiting the castle was temporarily closed during my visit. However, from the outside, it looks truly wonderful. There is a small, beautiful garden adjacent to the palace, and the front lawn of the castle also looks nice."

"This small quirky castle is only open on a few select days per year and as we were in the area and its free we thought why not , really glad we did as this has more character that the more glamerous castles up north will never have , theres a real grittyness to the no frills decoration in the main hall and bed room and it does feel as though this was how they lived 600 years ago , shout out to the young volunteer Ian who must have said his introductory speech to every visitor hundreds of times as when we visited it was quite busy , if its open take a look as its a fascinating glimpse at life half a millenium ago. the outside can be viewed at any time and even here the castle has little quirks that make it unique"
