What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Visitors praise Chingford Plain for its tranquil, expansive green spaces and the unique experience of seeing grazing cows. It's seen as a wonderful escape for fresh air and nature, though some note that certain historical sites might be closed and the terrain can get very wet and boggy.
"Tranquil flat walk, plenty of cows grazing
It was quite sunny the day I went and they were all huddled and sat together
Don’t get too close as they will get up or get startled. There are signs at the entrances with lots of information about the cows and other wildlife in the area. Theres a lot of cow 💩 on the grass and the trails - so were appropriate shoes !!"

"A wonderful experience I've been meaning to have for sometime now. Brought my brother along too. Friendly walkers helped us find landmarks when new technology failed us! Unfortumately some places of interest were closed, like the Queen's Lodge..but we were really there for the vast green spaces and to breathe in the fresh air and late summer sun. There's so much to Epping Forest, so I shall return soon!"
