What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Chelmsford Market is a well-established local hub with a friendly atmosphere and helpful stallholders. Visitors appreciate the variety of fresh produce, artisanal cheeses, and delicious baked goods, with the Essex Foodies Market being a particular highlight. While some note the presence of empty stalls, the market remains a valuable spot for unique finds and affordable eats.
"Chelmsford market seems to have been there for as long as I can remember. I have been there on and off a number of times over the years. When I was young it was always the magazine stall I headed to, to get copies of Games Master or what ever computer magazines they had! My shopping habits are fairly different these days, my visit generally takes me to the fruit and vegetable stall, cheese stall (get some broken biscuits perhaps while I am there), and the butchers. Occasionally, I'll also pop to the card stall.
Whilst there are some quirky type stalls the market is never as quirky as some you might go to, and there always seems to be a number of empty units and stalls. On the bright side, it always seems to be much cleaner and nicer to look at then I remember! (Loving some of the art work!)"
