What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Visitors consistently praise the Chain Bridge's stunning location and iconic beauty, especially when illuminated at night. The historical significance and architectural grandeur are frequently highlighted as major draws. However, some reviews mention potential issues with food quality and service at nearby establishments, and occasional closures can be a minor inconvenience.
"Called today for lunch after lovely walk. Fair play to staff, the till was playing up so some orders got a bit mixed up. No big deal. Scampi and chips gorgeous and still hot.Didn't have to wait long but my friend's order didn't go through. They rectified it though. Staff lovely and smiley. Very polite. Price was ok. Coffee nice and warm and not weak. Could do with displaying table numbers better. We went to order and lost our place in the queue because we had to go and find a table with a clearly displayed number before ordering. This hotel is in an amazing location. Just a few tweaks needed."

"My partner and I have only had a meal in the Chainbridge Hotel so can't comment on the rooms. The hotel is in a lovely location sandwiched between the Shropshire Union Canal and the river Dee. The hotel is welcoming, warm, and comfortable and is a lovely place to sit and enjoy a coffe break or a nice meal. The staff are friendly and helpful, the hotel clean and well looked after. Thanks to it being situated on the banks of the river Dee you can sit and enjoy the scenery in comfort and warmth even on the coldest of days. As to the food? It's very well cooked, presented, and surprisingly well priced. Parking is on the side of the canal and as long as you book your car registration in at reception it's free."

"Stunning location with a gorgeous view of the river and bridges. Good location for further adventures and some lovely walks nearby. The local village is accessible easily via a flat 30 minute walk along the canal (or road way). Staff were very friendly and accommodating. Breakfast is very basic (no hot food) but sufficient, although does not start until 8am."
