"Absolutely wonderful day. My son (7) and I thoroughly enjoyed our visit. So many different species of crocodilians, reptiles and mammals. All of which you can get so close up to. My son loved the glass enclosures and being able to see the crocodiles teeth and eyes, the snakes scales and the whiskers of the binturong.
I felt like all the animals were lvingky taken care of and all the closure and the zoo itself was clean and tidy. The keepers were lovely and informative.
Cafe catered for the basics and we had tasty hot food.
Played the new gator golf and while short holes the setting was brilliant and captured my son's explorer imagination.
Will definitely be going back, we just live 50miles away so a bit far for too many trips 😊."

"Loved it here. So many different crocs to see. The zoo was bigger than expected and all the exhibits were very well maintained. There's a lovely little cafe with plenty of hot and cold options and many toilets to choose from positioned all around the zoo. For just £15 each I thought it was a bargain and would definitely recommend to anybody thinking of going."

Understanding Crocodilian Diversity
Many visitors are impressed by the sheer number of different species on display, noting how close they can get to observe details like their bony plates (osteoderms) and powerful jaws. The well-maintained enclosures, often with glass fronts, provide excellent vantage points for observing these ancient reptiles. This proximity allows for a deeper appreciation of their physical characteristics and the evolutionary marvels they represent.
Beyond the star attractions, the zoo also houses other reptiles and mammals, broadening the educational scope of the visit. This variety ensures that there's something to capture everyone's interest, making it more than just a crocodile-focused attraction.
Conservation Efforts and Animal Welfare
While most reviews are positive, one Reddit post raised a question about whether certain Nile crocodiles appeared to be in cramped conditions. This highlights the ongoing discussion and importance of understanding the specific space requirements for different species. However, the general sentiment from visitor reviews suggests a high standard of care and a focus on providing suitable environments for the diverse range of animals.
The zoo's role in educating the public about these often-misunderstood creatures is crucial. By providing close-up views and informative talks, they aim to foster respect and appreciation for crocodiles, which are vital apex predators in their natural ecosystems.

Beyond the golf, the zoo's layout and the variety of animals ensure that children remain entertained throughout the visit. The feeding sessions and keeper talks are also excellent ways to keep kids engaged and learning. The overall atmosphere is one of discovery and excitement, making it an ideal destination for a family day out.
