Saturday marked the 120th year of the iconic Windemere 17ft class at the Royal Windermere Yacht Club with an amazing sail past through Bowness Bay from the fleet. We were trusted with 70 year old Number 32 named Panther built in 1955. Having never sailed one of these incredible boats before I took a little persuading, honestly I felt...

"Great view of the Windermere lake. Beautiful place with many ducks, swans and other birds. Cruises are available."

Sowmya Sreeram

"Very windy today, 29 Jan, but the walk from Windermere to bowness via The Beemire was great. Google the path, off the beaten track and through the back of the busy area so a lovely peaceful walk. Currently it's easy to see the damage to the woodland by the recent storms, loads of downed trees. Bowness itself as nice as ever, proper waves and white horses in the wind and even some spray being thrown up earlier. Lunch at the Cornish Bakery."
