What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Pear Tree Church is a historic gem with parts dating back to 1620, offering a glimpse into local history and community events like the summer fete. While the church itself is appreciated for its beauty and historical significance, the accessibility of the adjacent hall has been noted as a significant challenge for visitors with mobility issues.
"The hall is situated behind Pear Tree church and is available to hire for events as well as being for church use. The church on Pear Tree Green is over 400 years old (original parts) and the green surrounding it is used every July for their summer fete. Also of interest is the grave of Richard Parker which has a tragic story that made headlines in the 1880s"

"I recently visited this venue to try out for a choir. It wasnt a good fit and some of that was because wheelchair access to this building is awful the back entrance door was difficult to open and the ramp wasnt very good i was then asked to drive my chair back round to the front where people parking on the pavement to go to said choir rehearsal made it dangerous for me to get down the path hitting bushes then i was taken up the side of the hall where the pavement was so badly overgrown with weeds and bushes i was cut and grazed up my legs and the door lip was not suitable to get in i had to then turn round on a sixpence pretty much so i could reverse in over it. Then its a tight turn into the hall. Ive now been put off attending the building for fear of further injuries."
