What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Belper Market Place is appreciated for its vibrant Farmers and Makers Markets, offering a great selection of local produce and crafts. Visitors enjoy the characterful space and the independent shops on King Street. However, some find the overall experience lacking in major attractions, and the steep hill near the market requires caution.
"A disappointment really. Nothing special to see or do.
Managed a gluten free meal at Nourish which was OK but it was only a chicken salad then ice cream for dessert...
Doubt I shall visit Belper again."

"We have been to Belper a couple of times recently for the excellent Farmers Market, and the fantastic range of shops on King Street. It's a treat to find small, independent shops these days and there are more on this one street than most larger towns. Two butchers, greengrocers, cafés and all the other businesses make for a lively and bustling experience. We park at the side of the market, it is free but very bumpy in places Be aware, it is a very steep hill from the market down towards the main road, so be careful when it's wet and take your time if you have any mobility issues."
