"Originally built in the 13th century and was no more than 10 feet wide. Been widened about 3 times now to accommodate modern size vehicles. Now been replaced by the Taw Bridge which takes vehicles away from the main centre of Barnstaple along the bypass. Nice to have a stroll over in the evening and enjoy a peaceful walk along the river."
