"Badby woods has to be one of the best walking areas for both humans and your four legged friends. The site is designated as a SSSI site and is managed and owned by the Fawsley Hall estates. It has situated in the Northamptonshire countryside and benefits from having an extensive range of both evergreens and deciduous trees. If your heading out then be mindful parking is very restricted and you may have to park considerately in the Badby village and walk in. Consult a map or an OS Map to guide you as it can be accessed from many approaches. As your ascent begins you'll be treated with glorious views over countryside and once in the main belly of the wood the landscape and underfoot terrain changes. In some places the ascent can be fairly steep and has multiple dug outs and burrows so exercise caution as you walk. The feeling of being surrounded by hundreds of trees is awe inspiring. The canopy in many places can be dense which adds a sense of drama and charm. If you time your visit with the bloom of the bluebells you'll be in for a treat as the entire floor is decorated with a magnificent blue bloom. Contrasting against the green is worthy of your camera being an essential part of your kit. Please take note of the byelaws no fires, no camping and to clean up after your dog.
