What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Low Green is a popular seafront location, particularly vibrant during events like the Ayr Airshow. Visitors praise the spectacular aerial displays and the lively atmosphere. However, major events can lead to significant crowds, traffic congestion, and a commercialized feel with numerous food vendors.
"The occasion was the Ayr airshow on 6/9/25. With principal object to see one of only two airworthy Avro Lancasters in flight alongside a Spitfire. It was indeed a treat to see them but the seafront was awash with thousands of people. Traffic was so bad on all approaches,we could not reach the disabled car park, so my blue badge was useless. I had to walk a slow, painful walk for just over a mile to get to the seafront or risk missing Lancaster flight which was first event of the day. Every possible trick was being used to extract loadsa money from visitors by the vendors. The smell of Junk food pervaded the air. Maw,Paw, weans and dugs were all lapping it up. I realised,i had not prepared properly for such circumstances. Mea Culpa.🥺
The flight events viewed in total discomfort, were all fab. I didnt buy anything. I try never to encourage greed.Oh! What a circus. A case of balancing what you enjoyed with what you suffered. Red Arrows were amazing.😊👍"
