Reviews Summary

Visitors consistently praise Anderton Nature Park for its lovely walking trails through fields and trees, and the delightful stream that's perfect for children and dogs. Its proximity to the Anderton Boat Lift enhances its appeal as a great day out for families and pet owners alike. While the natural beauty is a strong draw, some visitors express disappointment with instances of littering, particularly discarded dog waste bags.

"Lovely walk with paths through the fields and trees. We were pleasantly surprised finding a lovely stream for the children and dogs to splash around in and cool down the first we went. We've been back a number of times since.

Just lovely to come here and also to the boatlift which is on the other side of the large carpark. Great day out super for everyone, adults, children and dogs."

Elena Greenall

"Lovely local area that includes part of Mersey Forest. Great trails that undulate across open grassland or through wooded areas and accessible to most mobile persons. Pity that some dog walkers who actively pick up and bag their animals waste, then choose to throw the bag into the trees, shame on you."

David Jeffery

"Really nice area with a variety of walking routes (most of which are firm under foot). Well worth crossing the canal into Marbury park and stopping off at the mobile refreshments trailer (their Marbury blend tea is very nice and they do a variety of lunch options and sweet treats). There are public toilets next to the trailer, should you need them. Crossing back over the canal, and following the tow path back to the boat lift car park, results in around a 4.5 mile circular route, but there are opportunities to extend it further, should you want to.

Really popular with dog walkers and families."
