What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Abbey Meadows is widely loved for its fantastic playground and scenic riverside location, offering a great day out for families and dog owners. While many appreciate the free entry and picnic opportunities, some reviews note maintenance issues in the playground and cleanliness concerns in the splash park due to wildlife.
"Lovely place to take kid's, 2 car parks to choice from. Sand pit, large park, mini train, ice cream etc"

"Great playground but it’s falling into disrepair. Zip wire has been broken for months and the seesaw thing has no ropes either."

"This is a wonderful park for kids of all ages we arrived just after 11am and left just after 4pm the park area with the swings and slides etc was for all ages all gated and safe seating area inside and lovely grass area shaded by the tree and great picnic area. Sadly there are a lot of geese wandering around the park area they looked people friendly but they poop everywhere and spending time in the splash park around 3 pm there was a lot of poop around this area where an awful lot of children are playing. When asked if we could contact some one I was told the council clean in the morning. I feel in the summer months this needs to be addressed more than early morning. This for me on a very hot day was disappointing and unsafe for little children to play around. Maybe this area should be gated as the park was, to keep this area clean and germ/ dirt free for our children. Toilets were clean and mr whippy was near the entrance. The town (10 min walk ) had lots of cafe eateries. A pleasant day and the kids loved it. Just the splash park area needs to be made safer I feel. A dog friendly park too."
