What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
58th Street The Lost Estate offers a highly immersive and atmospheric journey into a 1930s New York jazz club, with exceptional live music, engaging performances, and a detailed vintage setting. While the strict no-phone policy and premium pricing are noted, most guests find the experience to be a truly memorable, 5-star event. Some minor concerns were raised regarding food portion sizes and an isolated incident with security staff.
"My friends and I booked this place for my birthday. For the price, my expectations were high. We booked the tables on the floor which was almost £500. The food wasn’t anything special. The steak looked like sliced ham. Also, we understand that the rules were to keep the phone usage at minimum. As we were headed to the door, we saw that there was a long line at the cloakroom and decided to sit down and wait for it to shorten, this ‘bodyguard’ approached us and started screaming at us asking if we were taking photos since my friends were on their phones checking for Uber. He proceeded to tell my friend still raising his voice at her telling her to take one photo and shoo’ed us out of the place as if we were beggars. I don’t know I just feel like the way they treated us was not so professional that even one of the waitress tried to tell him off but he screamed at her as well. I had high hopes for the place. The performers were really good and I enjoyed it but this experience at the end put me off. I was so looking forward to attend this event but it just gave us a bad memory."

"When we arrived, we were told that taking 📸❌ or 🎥❌ videos inside wasn’t allowed — which felt a bit strange, since I actually discovered this place on Instagram, where so many people had shared gorgeous photos and clips, even of the show itself. And here on Google, you can see plenty of pictures too, so the restriction at the entrance was a little confusing 🤷♀️.
The food was delicious, though the protein portions were quite small — very Michelin-style elegance in size 😄. The music was different from what I expected after seeing their Instagram reels — more of a lively jazz vibe, quite loud but full of energy.
I’m really glad I chose the bar seats — they have an amazing view of the stage, and there’s honestly no need to overpay for VIP tables. You still get the full experience, great food, and the perfect view!"

"Well... This ranks in the top 3 evenings we have ever had! Possibly the best ever...
This place is incredible, we had a smile on our faces from start to finish. The attention to detail is unrivalled, everywhere you look, the place is oozing nostalgia, perfect decor and lighting. Nothing out of place.
The band is just 1st class, the music all night is wonderful, Belle, the host is so entertaining.
All of the performers are faultless, amazing in fact.
Food is really tastey, we ate from the Farm menu and every course was delicious. Drinks/cocktail choice are also fantastic, all served in period/appropriate glasses and tasted great.
All staff feel like they are having fun and 'in character' the immersion of the 1930s jazz club is never broken until you walk outside and go home!
This is achieved with a rather strict no phones policy (which is essential) you get to enjoy every moment, throughout the nigjt. Nobody taking pictures of their food or faces. It really feels like you go back in time!
We snuck a couple after the ending!
We would love to go back one day."

The Immersive Magic of 58th Street
The core of the experience lies in its live performances. A talented jazz band provides a continuous soundtrack, while singers, dancers, and storytellers weave a narrative that keeps you engaged. The performers are lauded for their professionalism and ability to stay in character, ensuring the illusion is never broken. This commitment to immersion is further amplified by a strict no-phone policy, which, while initially surprising to some, is widely credited with allowing guests to truly disconnect and be present in the moment.
Beyond the entertainment, the culinary aspect is also a significant draw. Guests can enjoy a multi-course tasting menu, often described as a 'Manhattan feast,' accompanied by cocktails served in period-appropriate glassware. While some note that protein portions can be on the smaller side, the overall quality and presentation of the food receive positive feedback, with dishes like the sirloin steak being a particular highlight.

The interior design is a masterclass in historical recreation, featuring dark, smouldering, and smokey elements that evoke the clandestine jazz clubs of the era. The intimate setting, seating around 100 people, ensures a personal and engaging experience for everyone.
For those concerned about the cost, it's important to note that 58th Street is positioned as a premium, immersive event. While VIP booths can be costly, opting for bar seats is a popular recommendation for those seeking a full experience with excellent stage views at a more accessible price point.
