"Masafi is a village in the United Arab Emirates that is situated on the border between the Emirates of Ras Al Khaimah and Fujairah. It is Located on the edge of the Hajar Mountains, and is best known for being the top producer of mineral water in the UAE. Masafi is worth the drive from Dubai / Sharjah with some rugged mountain scenery and about an hours drive from Dubai. A visit to the famous Masafi Friday market is good for a small break from busy schedule. Though called as Friday Market, it is open all weekdays. One can find items of clay, furniture, carpets, fresh fruits and vegetables and a big variety of goods including souvenirs, local crafts, carpets and rugs, household items, etc. at small shops across both sides of the main road. You need to bargain for most items. Well your bargain skills can really get you good deals here. Masafi is a nice place to have a short break during your long drive to Dibba or Fujairah or Khorfokkan!! The roadside snack shops are a good stopover to saviour locally made fresh sweets, samosas, Kadak tea or bhajiya pakoras.
