What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Visitors generally praise The Green Planet Dubai for its unique concept as an indoor rainforest and the engaging experience it offers, especially for families. The knowledgeable staff and the variety of exotic plants and animals are frequently highlighted as positives. However, some find the ticket price a bit high for the duration of the visit.
"Great place to spend a hot summer day, it takes 2-3 hours to go from top to bottom. A lot of birds, I like tukans the most, lemurs are running around. You may hold a python or African roach in you hand if you like. There are a lot of other small animals and snakes, nice to see. But be aware they there is no parking there, you need to park in the underground parking of the mall on the other side of street, so make a route to the mall directly."

"Worth the trip but smaller than expected. We enjoyed our visit. There are some neat animals to see (even although I am not a fan of animals outside their natural habitat). It is an educational place - would be great for a school trip. Younger children would enjoy it. My 15 year old granddaughter said it was worth the trip. We would probably give barely 4 stars. The “cafe” only had seating for 4 people. Prepare for heat outside if you plan to have a snack."

"I was under the impression The Green Planet was a rainforest featuring a variety of plants/trees and some birds, but I had no idea there were going to be so many animals, birds and reptiles, many within a mere inches from wandering humans.
For some of the wildlife, like sloths and little monkeys, as well as some reptiles, I found the enclosures to be way too small, which is unethical and doesn’t do justice to the animals.
Two large parrots defecated on my partner and I. My partner was able to wash himself with water, but their feces was on my hair, arms, clothes and cheeks. We were not warned prior to entering the facilities that this could be an issue, otherwise we would have been more prepared. Moreover, the staff did not help us clean up. They simply pointed us to some paper tissues and sanitizer, did not give me access to washrooms, or provide appropriate supplies to help me clean up. My husband did his best to help me clean up, and quite frankly, the incident put a damper on my day. The staff kept saying “this is a blessing, you are lucky” but honestly I would have preferred some assistance, and a prior warning, so let this be a warning to you if you go.
We also witnessed a small bird fly into a young infant who began crying hysterically, while his mother kept examining his face frantically to look for any injuries.
There are some very wild, large, predatory birds, bats and primates all out in the open, and staff isn’t always paying attention. The experience is cool and informative, but please proceed with caution especially if you have kids.
Given that respiratory illnesses are on the rise, do mask while navigating the facilities. The birds fly around and there’s tonnes of dust, particles and organisms released into the air from their feathers."
