What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
The Georg is praised for its unbeatable location near Dubai Creek and public transport, with many guests appreciating the helpful staff and potential for room upgrades. However, some reviews point to dated furnishings, occasional maintenance issues, and potential noise disturbances, suggesting it offers good value for its prime spot but may not meet luxury expectations.
"To begin with, they welcomed us with a room upgrade, to a very big 2 rooms suite with 180 degrees views towards the Creek and Burj Khalifa in the background. We have asked for a quiet room before our arrival, and it was delivered, so a big thank you to the reception staff, they’re amazing. If you’re discouraged by the loudness related reviews, or anything else, I encourage you to talk to them, they’ll do their best to meet your needs. We received a room on the third floor, and there was no noise from the hotel perimeter (except for the usual noise of the creek boats). Location wise, it is perfect. I don’t think I would stay anywhere else in Dubai. Well connected with the metro lines, the closest being at 2 minutes walking distance. Also buses going on the coast through Jumeirah are leaving near the next metro station. There is a very good restaurant 1 minute from the hotel and many others on the other side of the Creek. The cleanliness was exceptional, room cleaned daily with all the amenities changed or refilled. The comfort in our room was amazing: very good bed and mattress, hot water with good pressure, silent and efficient AC. From what we experienced, I think it deserves one more star to the hotel classification. Highly recommend!"

"Beautiful view and easy access to transportation and things to do. However, the room wasnt worth 100 us a day. The rugs and furniture are dirty and stained. The shower wont drain and the hot water dont work.
They said they will fix it but it never happened. The internet is also slow.
The staff was good. Never again. Agoda needs to drop them. I should be refunded for at least 1 night."

"We booked through Agoda at one of the more affordable hotels in the area. The location is great—close to the abra, Gold Souq, Spice Souq, and Al Seef—making it perfect for travelers.
The room was quite spacious considering the price we paid. The bed was comfortable as well. However, the carpet and sofa chairs were a bit old and had many stains.
The staff were nice and hospitable, and they cleaned the room daily.
The issues we encountered during our stay:
There is a bar inside the hotel, and we could clearly hear the music even past midnight.
At check-out, they insisted that one large towel was missing. We definitely did not take it—honestly, the towels weren’t even good enough to bother stealing. Still, they were adamant, so to end the discussion I paid 30 AED for the “missing” towel. For that price, I could have bought a fluffy new one at Carrefour.
Overall, we had a pleasant stay—except for the 30 AED we had to pay for the towel."
