What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
KidZania Dubai is widely praised as an incredibly fun and educational experience for children, offering a unique mini-city where kids can role-play over 40 professions. Parents appreciate the concept of learning through play and the independence it fosters in children. However, some visitors find the cost to be a bit high, especially for parents, and note that younger children might not fully benefit from all activities.
"Honestly, Dubai KidZania was a real disappointment. The ticket price is extremely high, yet the activities inside are very limited and quite basic. There are only a few things that truly keep children engaged, and even those don’t last long.
The staff looked tired and unmotivated — most of them seemed to just want to finish their shift rather than create a fun experience for kids.
What’s even more surprising is that they charge 90 AED for adults, even though there’s literally nothing for adults to do inside. At least offer a cup of tea or coffee if you’re going to charge that much!
Compared to the KidZania I visited in Russia, the Dubai version feels simple, dull, and poorly organized. For such a high price, I expected a much richer and better-managed experience. Definitely not worth the money."

"5 stars for the venue itself...my 6 year just loves it and the variety here is commendable.
3-4 stars however for the staff and management. We were a friend's group of 2 adults and 2 kids and were not allowed to pay with 2 cards. They insisted only one payment per transaction as per policy however the terms and conditions on the wall do not stipulate this. Manager eventually allowed.
Furthermore the staff in the ice cream shop were very rude. I requested 2 coffees and the 3 of them were laughing and just standing around after I made my order. I actually asked them - why they were laughing and did they not want to make out coffees? Definitely room for improvement from an adult point of view"

"What a wonderful idea to help children learn while having fun! This could inspire them to explore future career paths. The program begins with children opening a bank account, then they explore a simulated city, visiting various workplaces that interest them. They learn about different jobs, complete tasks, and earn money that can be spent in a gift shop. The staff were all fantastic and wonderful with the children, making the visit even more enjoyable. I highly recommend this for children aged 2 and older."

For Different Travelers
Tailored advice for your travel style
👨👩👧 Families with Young Children
For younger children, focus on roles that are more sensory or less complex, like the hospital nursery or simple food preparation. Ensure you have a plan for breaks and snacks, as a full day can be tiring. Consider booking packages that might include activities more suited for younger ones, or be prepared to spend more time supervising them in simpler roles.
💰 Budget-Conscious Travelers
While inside, encourage your children to focus on earning KidZos through various jobs rather than immediately spending them. This teaches them the value of money. Consider packing some snacks and water bottles to minimize on-site food purchases, although The Dubai Mall has numerous affordable dining options.
✈️ Day-Trippers & Tourists
Allocate at least 4 hours for your visit to allow children to explore multiple professions. Booking tickets online beforehand is crucial to save time and money. Consider visiting on a weekday morning to avoid the largest crowds.
Deep Dives
In-depth insights and expert knowledge
The KidZos Economy
Once earned, KidZos can be spent in KidZania's shops on souvenirs, toys, or even on certain activities. This creates a closed-loop economy where children learn to budget and make spending decisions. However, some reviews note that the value of KidZos might feel limited, with items outside KidZania being much cheaper than what they can afford with their earned currency.
This economic simulation is a core part of the educational experience, allowing kids to understand concepts like earning, saving, and spending in a fun, low-stakes environment. It's a practical lesson that goes beyond classroom learning.
Role-Playing Professions
Each profession is meticulously designed to mimic real-world scenarios, complete with scaled-down equipment and interactive tasks. For instance, young nurses learn to care for newborn babies, while aspiring pilots get to experience a flight simulator. This immersive approach allows children to explore different career paths and discover their interests.
This hands-on experience is not just about fun; it's about developing crucial life skills such as teamwork, problem-solving, communication, and responsibility. By engaging in these roles, children gain confidence and a better understanding of the adult world.
Parental Experience & Supervision
Some reviews mention that parents don't have specific activities within KidZania, and the ticket price for adults can feel a bit high given this limitation. However, the opportunity to see your child independently navigate and learn is a rewarding experience in itself.
It's a great chance for parents to relax in the mall's amenities while their children are safely entertained and educated. The staff are generally attentive and ensure the children are well-managed within each role-play area.
