"The Petrovsky Poltava Cadet Corps was the oldest and most prestigious cadet educational institution in the territory of modern Ukraine during the Russian Empire. It was located in Poltava from 1840 to 1918.
The main building was built in 1835-1840 in the late classicism style under the supervision of the architect M. I. Bonch-Bruevich. It occupies the northwestern section of the Round Square, which was initially allocated for a boys' gymnasium. It is the largest among the buildings of the ensemble (the length of the main facade is 132 meters).
Since 1958, the Poltava Higher Anti-Aircraft Missile Command School was located here, which was disbanded in 1995.
Now the building is gradually falling apart, alas."
