What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Salute Hotel is celebrated for its unique Soviet modernist architecture, particularly its iconic spiral ramp, and its excellent location near Kyiv's major historical sites. While guests appreciate the helpful staff and accessibility features, some find the hotel's amenities dated and the breakfast service slow. Noise from traffic can also be a concern for some rooms.
"Special and interesting architecture - don't miss to use the ramp (not stairs!) instead of the elevator. Breakfast only from 0800...and serving takes a while. Reception hall is a bit dark. Rooms are OK and clean.
Reception staff very helpful and exceptionally friendly.
Located close (within walking distance) to the famous Pechersk Lavra (a Kiev must see!), park of eternal glory and the motherland monument."

"I stayed here for one night to experience this local landmark. It's a truly impressive building.
As a hotel it was very dated and could do with a refurb, however the room was clean and tidy. The staff were helpful too. The location is perfect for visiting Pechersk Lavra, the Holodmor Genocide museum and the Great Patriotic war museum. You also have Arsenalna metro stop a short walk away, and the fantastic Kyiv Food Market.
My room on the 6th floor facing the Dnieper river offered good views, especially from the balcony, though it wasn't particularly warm. The heated aircon did a job but there was a slight chill when not in bed - I was visiting in January (the coldest month in the Ukraine I believe).
I'd recommend visiting the hotel but just beware that it isn't particularly modern. As a side note, for anyone with access needs, poor mobility or using a wheelchair, the hotel has two lifts and because of the way the floors are designed, it's easy to get between floors. The floors are mostly connected by a spiral ramp."

"Alas the maintenance is missing and due to the traffic rooms are noisy. Breakfast poorly prepared. The atmosphere is soviet in the worst sense despite efforts of the staff which is kind and helpful. Anyhow is in the downtown, very comfortable with public transports it is clean. I suggest to chose superior rooms whether available."
