"What a disgrace of a complex. I checked in by purchasing 2 large family rooms for myself and my family at a total cost of $980 AUD – which is on the pricier end for Turkey during October.
Upon entry to both rooms there was a putrid, burst-pipe smell coming from the rooms. The clerk explained the pipes had been cleaned that morning and advised us to leave the balcony doors open to “air it out.” I did just that and took the kids to the pool. When we returned two hours later, the smell was even stronger and unbearable.
I then tried to prepare showers for the kids, only to discover that neither room had hot water. Phones in the rooms did not work, so I had to run down to reception. I asked for the manager to attend the rooms, but instead he sent a clerk, who himself had to block his nose from the stench and agreed the rooms were unlivable. He suggested we would have to be “upgraded,” but when I spoke to the manager, he admitted we had already booked the best rooms available. Instead, he downgraded us into standard rooms at a lower value.
I requested a refund for the difference in room types, but the manager said he would “look into it.” By this stage it was late, I was exhausted, and I accepted the standard rooms. Unfortunately, when we turned on the taps, once again there was no hot water.
This was the last straw. We will spend the night and leave first thing in the morning.
For anyone considering this property – beware. At this price point, what we experienced was unacceptable:
