"The Beyazıt II Mosque is one of my favorite examples of early Ottoman architecture in Istanbul. Commissioned by Sultan Beyazıt II and completed in 1506, it’s located in the heart of the city near Beyazıt Square, not far from the old Forum of Theodosius. The mosque was designed by Yakup Şah bin Sultan Şah and features a large central dome, elegant minarets, and a peaceful courtyard that really captures the spirit of the classical Ottoman style. What I find especially interesting is that the complex originally included a soup kitchen, a school, and a bathhouse, showing how it served both religious and community needs.
