"The Ancient City of Lyrbe is located in the Manavgat district of Antalya. It is suggested that the city's name is Seleukeia, based on the Stadiasmus Maris Mayni, a navigator's handbook. However, it is thought that the sacred area mentioned in an inscription written in the Side language today should be Lyrbe, an ancient Pamphylian city with a mountain city identity, and that Seleukeia was located at another point accessible by the Manavgat River.
Since the ancient city is surrounded by deep ravines on three sides, only the walls on the southern side have been preserved quite well to this day. The monumental gate that provides access to the city from the south is located in the middle of the walls. This gate is bordered by two monumental towers. The walls extending from both sides of the monumental gate to the east and west continue to the cliff. The outer surface of the walls is made of cut sandstone blocks and is built in a non-regular rectangular technique.
The western side of the agora in the city center is built against the slope, while two-story structures are located on the eastern shore. The agora, which is generally dated to the Hellenistic period, is entered through the monumental gate in the southeast."
