"This is quite an unknown place to visit in Izmir but definitely worth visiting if you're in Izmir. It's free to get in, and it's not far from buses or Izban. A very interesting and historical place which dates back to over 700bc. Generally really enjoyed walking around this area seeing this historical ancient city. My only complain is it's not very easy to navigate around and see where and where not you're mean to walk, my other big complaint is there is trash everywhere, it really ruins the historical sight. The trash really needs to be cleaned. But I still recommend coming here."
