Reviews Summary
Moda Coast Park is a beloved local spot praised for its beautiful seaside promenade, perfect for jogging, cycling, and relaxing picnics with stunning city and sunset views. While it offers a tranquil escape, some visitors note that weekend markets can get crowded, and it's primarily a recreational area rather than a historical site.
"One of the nicest and best places in the Asian side to have a walk around, especially in summer nights when the cool summer night breeze makes the night special. You can spend hours just walking up and down the coast, watching the boats, the skyline, the lights, the night sounds and then go to Moda to have ice cream or waffles. The scenery is stunning and the place is beautiful and safe, and gives you unforgettable memories."

Exploring the Moda Neighborhood
This area is a favorite among locals for its laid-back vibe, making it a great escape from the bustling tourist centers. You can spend hours wandering through its streets, discovering unique vintage stores, independent boutiques, and art galleries. The neighborhood truly comes alive in the evenings, with locals gathering at its many eateries and social spots.
When visiting Moda Coast Park, make sure to allocate time to explore the Moda neighborhood itself. It offers a more authentic Istanbul experience, away from the typical tourist trails, and provides a fantastic contrast to the historical sites on the European side.
Getting Around Istanbul: Smart Travel
For airport transfers, ditch the expensive taxis. The Havaist bus service offers a comfortable and budget-friendly way to get from Istanbul Airport (IST) to various points in the city for a fraction of the taxi cost. Similarly, the M11 metro line from the airport provides a quick connection to the city's metro network.
Taking ferries across the Bosphorus is not only a practical way to travel between the European and Asian sides but also a scenic experience. From Sultanahmet, you can easily reach Kadikoy via ferry, which is a great starting point for visiting Moda Coast Park. Planning your routes using apps like Google Maps or dedicated Istanbul transport apps can further enhance your travel experience.
Shopping Smart in Istanbul
For a more curated shopping experience, consider Arasta Bazaar, located near the Blue Mosque. It's known for its high-quality carpets, ceramics, and artisanal crafts, offering a more relaxed atmosphere than the Grand Bazaar. Additionally, neighborhoods like Moda are excellent for discovering local brands, vintage shops, and global brands manufactured in Turkey, often at more competitive prices.
By venturing beyond the most famous tourist markets, you can find more authentic souvenirs and better deals, making your shopping experience in Istanbul more rewarding and budget-friendly.
