That said, there’s a lot of walking, and it can get really hot, especially during the day. Make sure to bring water, wear a hat and comfortable shoes, and try visiting early to avoid the crowd and heat.

"A magnificent site, with some pieces restored.
The 3* rating is for the discrimination against foreign visitors who pay €40 for the entrance, while Turkish nationals pay €2. I am not against differential prices, but the price paid at all Turkish museums is higher than anywhere in the world. If this is done to stop foreign tourism, they are succeeding.
In addition , if you want to see the better preserved terraced houses you need to fork out another €15. Parking is additional. For a family of 4 be prepared to leave €200 or more on the premises."
