Reviews Summary

Visitors praise Miletus Ruins for its immense historical significance as the birthplace of Western philosophy and its remarkably preserved structures, particularly the theatre. However, many note disappointing site organization, lack of maintenance, and limited information panels, suggesting improvements are needed for a more comprehensive visitor experience.

"A must see destination, where you meet the first philisophers like Thales, Anaximenes, Anaxagoras.
The official toilets are closed!"

Zafer Tuncay

"The archeological site of Miletus is breathtaking. If you are interested in this part of history you will love this place. It’s a very large area with a lot of still standing structures so it allows you to imagine how the city was back in its glory days.
However the organization of the site is very disappointing. There’s no proper entrance gate, not much maintenance, trash on the ground, etc.
I hope that they can add more information panels throughout the site so people can understand the history of this unique place better.

Tips: If you are traveling during the summer I would recommend arriving at the site in the morning. It’s a very large area so it takes a lot of time to see everything. It took us almost the entire day walking around the site and it can get very very hot during summer months."

Batu Eroglu

"Very historical place, didn't go inside on this occasion but have watched concerts in the recent past. We were biking and had little spare time to do the usual tourist bit."
