"Aşiyan Museum is a hidden gem in Istanbul, offering a peaceful escape from the city’s hustle. Located in Tevfik Fikret’s former home, this museum not only preserves the legacy of one of Turkey's most influential poets but also provides a glimpse into the intellectual life of the late Ottoman period. The breathtaking view of the Bosphorus from the garden is worth the visit alone, creating a tranquil atmosphere that inspires reflection. Perfect for literature lovers and anyone seeking a serene cultural experience."

"This is the mansion in which the Turkish poet Tavfik Fikret lived between 1906 and 1915. Istanbul Municipality bought it from his wife in 1940. In 1945 it was opened to public as the first literature museum in Turkey. The poet is now buried in the garden of the museum.
The mansion is very beautiful and has a magnificent view of the Bosphorus. It isn’t allowed to take pictures inside the museum. That is why all posted photos are from the exterior."

"My first visit was as a high school student, since than for around 20 years I have been a regular visitor. The house offers a time travel and the views are spectacular."
