It connects the European side at Ortaköy to the Asian side at Beylerbeyi, and it’s amazing to see how it spans across the Bosphorus Strait. The bridge was opened in 1973 and was the first to link Europe and Asia over the water. It’s especially beautiful at night when it’s all lit up. In 2016, it was renamed to honor those who lost their lives during the July 15 coup attempt. Crossing it isn’t just about getting from one side to the other; it’s a chance to see the city from a whole new perspective. After crossing, you can enjoy some great food options, with cafes and restaurants around Ortaköy offering delicious local dishes like kumpir (stuffed baked potatoes) or fresh seafood, making it a perfect place to relax and eat while enjoying the view."
