What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
McLean's Town is praised for its tranquil, clear waters and the inspiring resilience of its community post-Hurricane Dorian. Visitors highlight its potential as a bonefishing haven and the vibrant local culture, especially during the Conch Cracking Festival. However, the area shows significant storm damage, and amenities are limited, making it a destination for those seeking peace and authentic experiences rather than typical tourist infrastructure.
"Just the end of the east end before a series of cays begin. Not much to do but a tranquil place with clear calm water and a small resort. The East End Resort is a world class bonefish haven. Probably not for everyone as it's thousands of $ per week that includes a boat and guided outings and meals. So if you have it this is an excellent place to use it. There also is a ferry that goes to Abaco and back. Quite a ride from Freeport so make sure you have enough fuel before you leave as it's possible electric may be out making the station enroute inoperative. I gave it 5 stars because the stark evidence of Dorian power sanding the entire area is all around. 2 out of 3 structures all along the way are either severely damaged or demolished completely with many bare foundations still present. These people need a kind, encouraging word and people to visit. Their resilience is astounding. A great stop on the way is High Rock where you'll find Bishop's bar/restaurant where some good local food can be had."
