"Lively and full of energy—Victory Monument is one of my favorite spots in Bangkok. I pass by almost every morning on my run. Always crowded, with lots of food stalls and shops.
You can have a good view from above flyover. It’s difficult to get to closer as many cars passing.
As a tourist, unless you have must visit check box then you can visit but nothing really much to see so if you have very little time in BKK, you can skip. That’s what I think. But it is indeed an iconic spot."

You can view this monument from the rooftops of all nearby hotels. Very important location. If you continue along the main road, you can hit Central World, and even Sukhumvit area (although a taxi is better.)"
