Visitors generally rave about the stunning natural beauty of Krabi's Four Islands, highlighting the clear waters, unique rock formations, and magical experiences like the sandbar walk and Emerald Cave. The friendliness of guides and the included meals are often praised, making it a highly recommended day trip for many. However, some travelers have encountered issues with dishonest agencies, unexpected itinerary changes due to weather, and overcrowding.
"The 4-island tour from Ko Lanta was awesome! Super chill vibe, great guide, and we hit up Koh Chuek, Koh Kradan, Koh Mook, and Koh Ngai. Snorkeling was unreal with tons of fish, and the Emerald Cave was straight-up magical. Tasty lunch, comfy boat—totally recommend this for a fun day out!"

"We took the 4 Islands by shared longtail tour provided by Green Group Travel. The weather was not great and unfortunately the Emerald Cave could not be visited, and the snorkel visibility was quite terrible.
But I also realize that these conditions are not in the hands of the company. Service wise, this was one of the better tours I took. The staff, especially the tour guide Ya, was one of the most attentive guides I have ever seen. A truly unique guide that deserves a raise for all the work he does!
Highly recommended!"

"I went with my 14 year old daughter and her 15 year old friend. What an incredible experience. A really fun filled days visiting 4 islands. The first was an opportunity to view some amazing and colourful fish while snorkeling. Everything is provided.
Then on to the emerald cave. It's well worth the swim. The guide's provide a waterproof bag so phones can be taken to get some lovely pics inside.
Then onto another island for some snorkeling. Again it was great. As we were leaving we were provided with a beautiful platter of tropical fruits.
Finally we had lunch on the last island which boasts beautiful tranquil turquoise waters. Which we all swam in following lunch.
The lunch was perfect. 3 dishes, all different, but delicious. Soft drinks and water were provided throughout.
Finally, the staff. They were so friendly and accomodation. Nothing was too much effort. Lots of jokes and smiles. I was more than happy to leave a tip at the end. Something I don't always do.
Couldn't recommended highly enough. Well worth the money!!"

For Different Travelers
Tailored advice for your travel style
👨👩👧 Families with Kids
When booking, consider a longtail boat tour for a more relaxed pace, or a private charter if you want to control the schedule and avoid large crowds. Ensure the tour operator is reputable and has safety measures in place. While snorkeling is fun, supervise children closely, and consider bringing flotation devices if your kids are not strong swimmers.
💰 Budget Travelers
Booking through local tour agencies in Ao Nang or Railay Beach can sometimes yield better prices than booking online in advance, but always compare options. Be prepared for a more basic experience compared to luxury tours, but the stunning scenery remains the same.
💑 Couples
The Phra Nang Cave Beach offers a unique blend of natural beauty and a touch of mystique, perfect for couples seeking a memorable experience. Watching the sunset from the boat on your way back can also be a romantic end to the day.

Choosing Your Krabi Island Hopping Tour
When selecting a tour, consider your budget and desired pace. Speedboats are faster, allowing more time at each stop and covering greater distances, but they come at a higher price. Longtail boats, on the other hand, offer a more traditional and relaxed experience, often at a more affordable rate, though they are slower. Some travelers opt for private tours, which provide flexibility in the itinerary and a more intimate experience, but are the most expensive option. Research tour operators and read recent reviews to gauge reliability and service quality, as some agencies have been criticized for dishonest practices or itinerary changes.
The Magic of the Emerald Cave (Morakot Cave)
Access to the Emerald Cave is highly dependent on tidal conditions and weather. During high tide or rough seas, the entrance can be submerged or too dangerous to navigate. Tour guides are essential for navigating the cave safely and will often provide waterproof bags for your phones and cameras so you can capture the stunning interior. If your tour itinerary includes the Emerald Cave, be prepared for an unforgettable adventure, but also understand that it might not always be possible to visit.
Snorkeling and Marine Life
Most island-hopping tours provide snorkeling gear, including masks, snorkels, and fins. However, if you have specific requirements or prefer your own equipment, it's advisable to bring your own mask. The visibility can vary depending on the season and recent weather conditions, but generally, the snorkeling experiences are highly rewarding.
