"Driving around Rawai and decided to do a small diversion to Chalong Kan Eang restaurant for an early dinner.
Arrived around 5.30pm and the sprawling grounds were not very crowded.
We sat near the shore overlooking the Chalong jetty.
Wasn't hungry, so just ordered a pork stir fried with Salted fish and a black squid dish. Both were excellent to go with beer. Full marks for these 2 dishes.
The service was alright, typical Thai attitudes. But Kan Eang has since become a rather commercialised eatery. So don't expect full attentive passionate service.
The surroundings was nice. Very pleasant and open air. Sitting by the sea is a main attraction.
Prices of food here can be easily imagined, definitely not cheap, but we can give to their quality and presentation.
Parking is avail outside the restaurant and we got our lot easily.
Would I come again, probably yes when I have people to entertain or someone new in Phuket. But to just drive to Chalong to have dinner myself, I doubt so.
