What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Reviews for the Patong Immigration Center are mixed. While some visitors have experienced surprisingly quick and efficient service, especially during off-peak times, others report long waits, chaotic systems, and outdated information. The air-conditioned waiting area is a plus, but preparation with all necessary documents is crucial to avoid delays and potential fines.
"We visited the bureau on December 4th for a visa extension and expected a long wait since it’s high season. Surprisingly, there were only about ten people ahead of us and the place wasn’t crowded at all. We waited in the air-conditioned lobby.
Queue numbers were available in hard copy right next to the TM7 forms in the entrance, so you can simply take a number and fill out the form while waiting. As there weren’t many people, the whole process took only about an hour, and we received our stamped passports back quickly. Even though we had all the necessary documents, the TM30 and our departure information was not requested.
The only difference from previous reviews was the additional forms attached to the TM7, basic documents such as a fully English version similar to the TM7 and an acknowledgment of overstay penalties. Since we already had our photos with us, we only paid 100 baht per person for copies, totaling 2.000 baht."

"The system is so horribly bad that its hard to conceive how you could make it worse. First you stand in the sun outside with no shelter for 1-2 hours, then you get a number that means nothing then you pay 2200 baht for visa extension then you come back some hours later to total chaos where they shout out one passport at a time and everyone is standing in a giant line to try to push in to get their passports first - took 30min extra and should have taken max 5min due to a horrible system. Staff is nice though 🤪"

"Many people are often confused about the opening hours of this place because the hours shown on Google Maps are incorrect
The actual hours are Monday to Friday, 10:00 AM – 12:00 PM, with a 1-hour break, and 1:00 PM – 3:00 PM.
The place is closed on Saturdays, Sundays, and public holidays.
Actually They have edited the opening hours several times, but Google Maps hasn’t updated the changes."
