"Free entry to this what looks like a very new museum. Has a good selection of ancient artifacts from the Khmer temples in northeast of Thailand. Worth it for the visit."

Catherine Lim

"I visited Phimai National Museum on 26 December 2023, but unfortunately it was closed for renovation. However, I was still able to admire the monument and stone sculptures that they placed outside for visitors to see while they are working on the interior. The museum has a fine collection of Khmer artefacts from various sites in northeastern Thailand, dating back to the 12th century¹. It is one of the biggest and best museums in Isan, and I hope to come back when it reopens. If you are interested in the history and culture of this region, I recommend you to check out this museum²"
