Nong Khai Walking Street is a highly recommended Saturday evening market, praised for its incredible variety of affordable street food, unique handicrafts, and beautiful Mekong Riverfront setting. Visitors love the vibrant atmosphere, live music, and the opportunity to experience local culture. Some note that it can get busy, but it's generally not overcrowded.
"It is only open on Saturday evenings - but you should definitely go there if you are in Nong Khai on a Saturday.
There are so many different kinds of food, drinks and desserts, and all reasonably priced. There is a huge area with seats that anyone can sit at and eat their food. They also have local live music and dance on in that area.
It's a great place to eat and relax by the riverside at sunset."

"I went to Nong Khai on my last trip to Thailand when I caught the bus from Vientiane Lao across the border into Thailand. Nong Khai is a very beautiful place but very Instagram at the same time with lots of arch ways like picture frames with a view behind them and lots of platforms purely just for photos. But it actually deserves to be as the views are absolutely stunning overlooking the Mekong River with Vientiane Lao across the other side of the river. I can see why this would be a popular tourist destination with all of the restaurants and bars along the river front but it's not over crowded. I love this place"
