"Went here for a birthday dinner after seeing decent reviews. The place looks cool and the menu is small, so we tried more than half of it. There’s definitely potential, but the dishes need more refinement. Some appetizers seemed to be going for a fine-dining vibe but the flavours didn’t come together, and the crackers tasted off. Charred cabbage needed more time cooking, and the steak could’ve been sliced better and served warm.

On the bright side, the prawns were amazing, perfectly cooked and nicely plated.
Service was also great, super friendly staff.
But we waited 20 minutes for our cocktails before being told 1 of it wasn’t available, and whatever we eventually ordered wasn’t memorable.

"Tahona Restaurant is currently in its soft-opening phase, and I had the chance to try it recently. The ambience is definitely a highlight—the cave-like decor and design bring something fresh and unique to the Bangkok dining scene.

As for the food, some dishes were quite nice, but a couple were overly salty. The menu and wine list felt a bit limited, so hopefully that will expand as they move into full operation.

Service is an area that clearly needs improvement. Compared to other fine-dining restaurants, the staff seemed to lack product knowledge and confidence. Despite having many staff on the floor and only a few tables occupied, service was slow and unpolished.

Overall, Tahona could be a great spot for a date night thanks to the unique atmosphere, but I’m not so sure it’s the right place yet for a gathering with friends or family. Worth checking out—but with managed expectations."
