What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Rawai Beach is celebrated for its authentic local atmosphere and as a prime departure point for island hopping adventures, rather than for swimming. Visitors appreciate the fresh seafood dining and the tranquil, uncrowded vibe. However, the beach itself is not suitable for swimming or sunbathing due to the numerous boats docked offshore.
"One of my favourite beaches in Phuket. Not noted as a swimming beach account the volume of boats but still a wonderful spot to spend a day or evening. So many great restaurants up and down the esplanade will have you spoilt for choice in deciding what to eat, including the renowned seafood market. There is a great little brewery here too, highly recommend the IPA. And being a major boating spot plenty of longtails around to ship you off to one of the many islands in the area. Highly recommended."

"Rawai Beach is a beautiful spot with soft, fantastic sand and a relaxing atmosphere. It’s not just a place to enjoy the shoreline — it’s also the perfect beach for taking a small boat out for a tour of the nearby islands. The longtail boats lined up along the shore make it easy to explore the stunning islands just across the water, and the views are absolutely worth it.
Whether you want to relax on the sand or head out on an island-hopping adventure, Rawai Beach is an excellent choice. Highly recommended for anyone visiting the area."

"Rawai isn’t your typical swimming beach — and that’s exactly what makes it special.
Longtail boats lined up along the shore, fishermen getting ready at sunrise, peaceful walks under the casuarina trees…
It’s the perfect place to feel the local rhythm of Phuket.
A great starting point for island adventures — and one of those spots you keep coming back to. 🌊🚤🌴"
