More than 100 years.Because of that period there didn't have the airport.The major of transport are marine transportation.Starting with the overnight ferry from Bangkok. the journey take approx.3 days.
Then..1970 night ferry depart from the center of Suratthani to koh Samui.duration is approx.6 hours.
Then 1980 car ferry operated from Donsak to Koh Samui take 1 hour 45 min.
The town center starting changed to touirist area such as Chaweng & Lamai beach since 1991.When Bangkok airway landing in Koh Samui."
