What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Visitors praise the arboretum for its beautiful, well-maintained gardens, especially the azaleas and rhododendrons, and the stunning panoramic views of Thailand, Myanmar, and Laos. It's noted as a peaceful escape from crowds, offering a tranquil experience. Some find the mountain roads challenging, and a few suggest prioritizing the Royal Villa if time is limited.
"I could tell the place was beautiful although it was raining all the time we were there.
This is a place that tourists are taken too because Thai love the late queen mother who fought and taught the people in the north to be educated and skilled in agriculture."

"Lovely garden and relatively well maintain.
This garden is a mixture between garden and forest with lots of trees.
Azalea and rhododendrons gardens are especially beautiful. We went on Sunday afternoon, and it was still a bit foggy. There weren't too many people visiting this garden so it was really tranquil.
It cost 90 baht to enter, and i think it was well worth it. My 70+ year old mother can manage the walk fine with a bit of help from time to time, so it is an easy walk. It took us 2 hours at a very slow pace, so i think it would take less than 1 hour for most to explore the whole area.
The road to the garden is a bit narrow and steep but well maintained. Unless you are new to driving on a mountain, most will manage just fine. But you are looking for a place to escape the crowd then this is the spot.
There are a few interesting places to visit nearby such as Doi Chang Moob military lookout post which overlook the mountain range between Thai and Myanmar as well as Pha Hee and Pha Mhee Village."

"This , second park of Doi Tung Royal Project is lesser popular among tourists, which us quite sad, vnecause, though itself it's not as colorful as the main one next to the royal villa, this one provides way more opportunities for magnificent 360° mountain views from three viewpoints over three cities, three countries - Thailand, Myanmar and Laos!"
